Debut in 2022, seemingly setting the stage for a full-season breakout last year. But he swings so hard that he subluxated his left shoulder last May and required season-ending surgery. Bleis already has jaw-dropping raw power at age 20 thanks to his bat speed, still-developing strength and the loft and leverage in his right-handed swing.
He aggressively looks to launch balls to his pull side, producing high exit velocities for a 20-year-old but also leading to chases and strikeouts. He'll need to improve his swing decisions and his patience as he starts to face more advanced pitching.
Evaluators give Bleis solid-to-plus grades for his speed, arm and center-field defense. He already has gained 20 pounds since turning pro and could lose a bit of quickness as he continues to add muscle, but even so his instincts will enable him to continue to be an asset as a runner and defender. He looks to make things happen on the bases and makes good reads in center.
